Favourite Green Juice: Recipe

So after this year's Glastonbury Festival I was left with a classic case of post-festival flu and came home craving a green juice to perk me up and get some well needed nutrients into my system. This is my go-to recipe which has gradually developed over time (through lots of failed experimentation) into the perfect combination of nutritious green veg and fruity flavour. It's packed with immune system boosting vitamin C and contains plenty of fibre, iron and calcium, as well as a whole host of other vitamins and antioxidants.

The recipe makes enough for 4 servings - just keep any leftover juice in a sealed container in the fridge and it will keep for up to 3 days.

Ingredients:
1 handful of kale (tough stalks removed)
2 handfuls of spinach
1 pear (with the core removed)
1 kiwi (try to remove as many seeds as possible as they can give it a peppery taste)
1 Granny Smith apple (I find this gives the best flavour and texture)
Juice of 1 lemon
100ml water (or more if you like a runnier consistency)

Once all the ingredients are prepared, all you need to do is pop them straight into your blender and whizz it all up until its lovely and smooth. I find this juice to be best served nice and cold to make it extra refreshing so either pop it in the fridge for half an hour before drinking, or, if you're impatient like me, serve it over some ice cubes.
